Santorini rent a car conditions for drivers

Our Santorini car rental conditions are a result of Goverment regulations, and insurance companies policies. We follow these rules in order to comply with the regulations and protect our clients from any unpleasant surprises.

• DRIVERS LICENSE : A valid drivers license (not expired) is required. Photocopies, or images on tablets or phones, or email files are not accepted by local authorities. The driver should have his/her actual driving license in order to pick up the vehicle.
  Clients should have their drivers license for at least 2 years. T
• DRIVERS AGE: Driver must be between 21 and 76 years old. Drivers under 21 can not rent a vehicle. Extra insurance charges apply for drivers under 21 or over 70.
• INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT: is not required for most countries. It is required though for some countries (for example China, South Korea, Japan, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Argentina, Colombia and more). If an I.D.P. is required we inform you immediately.
• USE OF THE CAR IN ANOTHER ISLAND : Using the car in another island or getting the car on a ferry is not allowed.
• SECURITY DEPOSIT: ***we do NOT hold any security deposit ****from clients between 23 and 74 years old, with a valid license for at least 2 years and for economy small size cars providing that C.D.W. or S.C.D.W. is added on the reservation. **No amount is blocked on clients card. !!**
• SECURITY DEPOSIT FOR PREMIUM CARS: for premium cars like the Mini Coopers, Jeeps, SUV's etc a security deposit is required by debit or credit card equal to the amount of the excess
• CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD: ***a credit card IS NOT required !*** You can use any debit card for the typical purposes.
• PASSPORT OR IDENTITY CARD: In order to pick up your car you will also need your passport or identification card (I.D.)
• CARS CAN ONLY BE USED IN SANTORINI. Getting the car on a ferry and use it on another island is possible only after a written permission from the company . Extra charges apply .
• CANCELLATIONS : in case of cancellation we refund your down payments or payments up to 48 hours before the reservations pick up time.
• TRAFFIC REGULATIONS : drivers are responsible for any tickets issued by the authorities ( parking, speed e.t.c. )

Car hire company reserves the right to decline a rental, even for confirmed bookings, if a driver fails to provide the required documents. In that case we shall not be able to issue a refund of any amount already paid as a deposit. Please note that this is a common policy for most car rental companies in Santorini.
Car rental company reserves the right to retrieve the vehicle from the driver in case of dangerous driving, drink and drive, carrying more passengers than the cars capacity or similar traffic violations that might expose in danger human life. No refunds issued in that case.
